Aurburn, Clare Valley
100% Sangiovese
14.0% Alc
38 Years Old Vine
Good winter rain and above average rainfall in spring allowed enough moisture in the soil to get through a cool, dry summer. A late start meant that the fruit had a longer ripening period which led to great colour and flavour across all varieties but particularly, excellent concentration in the reds.
Picked when the fruit still has mouth-watering acid and a cherry flavour, the grapes are then destemmed, put into 1 tonne fermenters, allowed to start fermentation with native yeast and then left on skins for 30 days. A long, gentle ferment means we retain the primary red fruits and the natural acid and tannin profile. Pressed to older French HH (300 litre format) barrels and left to mature for 24 months.
A fantastic wine for any occasion, especially those pizza or spaghetti Bolognese days/nights.

Family owned, award winning, boutique winery located in Clare Valley. Our cellardoor and production facility are located in the heart of the historic town of Mintaro.
Started in 2014 with the intent to showcase alternative varieties that highlight the sub-regions of Clare Valley. In 2018, we built our own processing facility to accommodate the growing demand for our unique wines and to ensure quality to each batch. In 2023 we purchased a property to move our winery and open our cellardoor. We are now working on creating a space where you can come to the winery, see the process, taste the wines and meet the maker.
Our focus is to ensure that what is in your glass, is an exact representation of the premium fruit it is sourced from. Single vineyards are selected, and fruit is harvested based purely on flavour, balance and quality. Winemaking is minimal to ensure the structure and style of the fruit is carefully created to give the drinker the ultimate wine we can produce.
