The 2018 Cirillo Estate Grenache from Barossa Valley showcases the hallmark characteristics of this exceptional region, where old-vine Grenache thrives. On the nose, it presents a beautiful bouquet of red berries and fresh plum. On the palate, this wine is medium-bodied with a smooth, velvety texture. The bright red fruit flavours burst forward, dominated by strawberry and cherry, followed by layers of spice, particularly white pepper and cinnamon. There are subtle undertones of savory herbs and a gentle mineral edge that balances the fruit intensity. The acidity is vibrant, giving the wine a refreshing lift and ensuring excellent structure. The finish is long and lingering, with a perfect harmony of fruit and spice, leaving a sensation of brightness and finesse. This wine is approachable now but promises to develop even more complexity with a few years of aging.
Overall, the 2018 Cirillo Estate Grenache is a fine example of Barossa Valley Grenache—expressive, vibrant, and elegantly structured.
